How would I redesign this app in present day?
— Thought of the day

The Revamp -
Redesign in 2021

Creating a refreshing perspective on Yoodle with different priorities and features than the past version 6 years ago.
The Challenge: To create a thorough end to end app with a polished prototype with a year to complete on my own.

Moodboard Exploration

A visual board to capture the essence of Yoodle with organic shapes, illustrations and travel pictures.

Sketches - Initial Ideas

Storyboard

The ideal vision for Yoodle is to connect travellers together and create memories in that location.

Creating Personas

Visual Identity

Type

Creating an elegant and adventurous pallet of fonts to promote the text.

Colour Scheme

After finalizing different colour combinations, this palette seemed to fit the adventurous and retro feel.

A/B Testing

100% of the 6 users preferred the second option, deeming it as “instagrammable” and having a minimalistic aesthetic.

Low Fidelity Mockups based on Sketches

User Testings

After doing some user testings with 4 participants through video calls, the data gathered has allowed for major changes in the flows and some comments to consider when flushing out the functionality more concretely. The task flow was for participants to successfully match and set up an event with another person after inputting their flight details however users had freedom to navigate freely.

Major Features

Damn, that’s so cool. I think the events thing wasn’t there the last time I saw it? That’s kinda cool. Would those be public events or things that’s advertised in the app? Really impressive!
